Data Sources and Freshness
Market data has different clocks. We distinguish the time a feed was checked from the time a quote or signal was actually issued.

Primary inputs
Price history, quotes, company profiles, dividends, analyst aggregates, and related market fields are retrieved from Financial Modeling Prep endpoints and stored market records. StockInvestor.us calculates and stores its own rule-based signal records from the available observations.
Coverage and field availability vary by exchange, instrument, and provider entitlement. A blank or “N/A” value means the site does not have a sufficiently reliable value to display; it is not a zero.
Freshness labels
- Feed checked: when StockInvestor.us last asked for or rendered the available data.
- Quote timestamp: when the upstream quote observation was recorded, when supplied.
- Signal issued: when the model rule triggered and the signal record was created.
- Market closed: the newest legitimate observation may be from the previous trading session, weekend, or holiday.
Caching and outages
Short-lived caches reduce provider load and keep pages available during brief upstream failures. When a current request fails, an older cached value may be shown only within a bounded stale-data window. The interface should preserve the source observation time so age remains visible.
Do not treat a page-refresh time as proof that every displayed market field changed at that moment.
Report a data issue
Email support@stockinvestor.us with the URL, ticker, exchange, displayed value, expected value, and time observed. We verify the source, transformation, and presentation before making a correction.
